Our Story
Dr Amanda Koh
Founder and Managing Director
kohe™ Dental
kohe (kou-huey), pronounced ko-hey means “justice” or “fairness” in Japanese.
We started kohe™ dental because of a simple reason – we started seeing dentistry from a patient POV.
In 2023, we noticed that an increasing number of patients were leaving to neighbouring countries for their orthodontic or clear aligner treatments. These patients were disgruntled that high-quality orthodontic treatments in Singapore were becoming increasingly expensive. Patients who sought for cheaper orthodontic treatments locally were also not necessarily getting the results they expected.
There is this persistent impression that forking out top dollar is the only way can you obtain high-quality dental care.
Our belief is that together, it is possible to maintain high-quality orthodontic care at more accessible price points.
In fact, along with other folks with heart – whether it be our medical suppliers, venue providers or our team – we have managed to source for the best treatment options whilst lowering the overall treatment cost and focusing on quality of care.
With kohe™ Dental, we want our patients to smile knowing that their dental clinic always has their best interests in mind.
Premium treatment and care should not be pegged to a price tag. The right to beautiful smiles should be for everyone.
What Kohe (Fairness) Means To Us
Fair Treatment Costs
At kohe™ Dental, we practice fair treatment costs by reducing middlemen, and passing on the savings to patients like yourself.
Information and Cost Transparency
At kohe™ Dental, we believe that patients should be armed with the full knowledge of their treatment. To do that, we constantly update frequently asked questions, learning content on our website, as well as the training protocols of our team to reflect the same level of dedication towards information and cost transparency.

kohe™ Dental prioritises the well-being and quality of patient care we provide to everyone - regardless of whether you have decided to become our patient. Our clinicians are trained to practice ethical high-end dentistry. This also means that we do not to push for treatments that might not be suitable for you.

At kohe™ Dental, we believe that everyone deserves the right to a fair wage. Our clinicians, treatment coordinators, dental nurses and ancillary staff are paid a full-wage for a 2.5 days work-week.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about kohe™ dental and our mission to practice ethical dentistry.
What is ethical dentistry?
Ethical dentistry is the practice of ethical treatment of patients in dentistry through:
- Patient education,
- Patient involvement,
- The provision of more economical and time-saving treatment alternatives to patients,
- Transparency in cost,
- Being fair and truthful about the treatment, treatment duration and treatment outcomes, and
- Practising minimally invasive dentistry techniques over invasive techniques.
Ethical dentistry prioritizes the moral considerations of dental treatment over factors such as quality or cost.
Many individuals receive dental treatments that fail to meet their expectations for various reasons. These reasons often go beyond obvious factors like expertise of the dentist, the technology employed, or the fees charged.
How does kohe™ Dental practice ethical dentistry?
kohe™ Dental practices ethical dentistry through the following ways:
- Pre-Qualification: We ensure that all patients who come to us are pre-assessed via our pre-assessment tool. This free tool helps all patients find out whether they are suitable for treatment and the pre-treatments they would require before clear aligner treatment. If a patient is not suitable for clear aligners, that is made clear to them from the start, reducing the amount of time and cost they have were they to walk in directly to a dental clinic.
- Transparent Resources for Patient Education: Through our dentists and team of medical and healthcare writers, we have created a curated library of resources to help address possible questions and doubts that patients might have. This library of content is ever-growing and updated based on enquiries that we have received from our patients.
- Reducing Dental Clinic Visits To Help Patients Save Time: We have reduced the amount of time patients spend on follow-up orthodontic treatments by up to 40%. Most of our dental visits are conducted via a virtual link and with a video call.
- Reducing Overall Premium Clear Aligner Costs: We have sourced for the right partners to reduce the cost of premium clear aligner cost by more than 20%.
