Are you an orthodontist-run clinic?
kohe™ dental is not an orthodontist-run dental clinic. An orthodontist-run dental clinic means that the dental clinic is run and operated by orthodontists (dental specialists).
We are an orthodontic dental clinic that works primarily with general dentists for treatment of orthodontic conditions.
Our focus is on patients who wish to straighten their teeth with clear aligners or braces treatment.
However, on a case-by-case basis, we do work with dental specialists (orthodontists) to deliver extremely complex treatments that require their unique expertise.
What is the difference between seeking orthodontic treatment with a a dentist and an orthodontist?
A general dentist has received 4 to 5 years of training in general dentistry. They are trained to work across a wide range of dentistry procedures, which includes orthodontics.
A general dentist can however, take a special interest in a particular field of interest (e.g. orthodontics) and spend most of their career working on that particular procedure. They can also take postgraduate qualifications or certifications to enhance their knowledge in the field of orthodontics.
An orthodontist, on the other hand, is a dental specialist in the field of orthodontics. Besides the 4 to 5 years of basic training, orthodontists have to undergo another 3 to 4 years of specialised training in orthodontics to qualify as a dental specialist.
Both a general dentist and orthodontist have the necessary skillsets to help you achieve the smile you desire. However, because of their specialised training, orthodontists might be more adept at delivering orthodontic treatments for extremely complex orthodontic cases.
Should I seek orthodontic treatment with a general dentist or orthodontist?
There are some questions you can ask yourself if you are choosing between a general dentist and orthodontist:

kohe™ was intentionally built to be appointments-only to help reduce the overall overheads and operational costs of running a clinic. These savings are passed on to patients like yourself.
How much do I need to pay for clear aligners treatment at kohe™?
Most patients who visit kohe™ are patients with mild to moderate teeth alignment issues.
The cost for moderate alignment issues usually start from $3,500 for Angel Aligners and $5,800 for Invisalign.
Depending on the brand of clear aligners you decide to take up, the complexity of your teeth alignment issues as well as the pre-treatment you require, your cost of clear aligners treatment will differ.
